The ThermaCELL Outdoor Lantern operates on a single butane cartridge, which heats a mat releasing allethrin, a synthetic copy of a natural insecticide found in pyrethrum flowers, creating a 15 x 15 foot comfort zone. It is lightweight (13 oz) with easy grip handle and rugged outdoor structure. Each repellent mat provides up to four hours of protection and each butane cartridge provides up to 12 hours of operation.

My uncle and I do a lot of hunting, and in the early bow season you just might get carried right out of your treestand without some sort of mosquito repellent. We each bought the hand-held thermacells about two years ago and let me just say… THEY WORK!! The first night I used it, I questioned its effectiveness and switched it off for the last 10 minutes of my hunt – BIG MISTAKE. If the mosquitoes aren’t around you… don’t turn it off!! They’re just hiding.
I got this for my parents to take with them camping. The lantern feature is perfect to put on the picnic table or to take with you on that dreaded stroll to the mosquito infested bathrooms!

|Really keeps the bugs away!!!,
I bought this on the recommendation of my husband’s hunting and fishing friends (who would know better about what keeps the bugs away in the thick woods, right?). We have not been disappointed. It really works well and the smell is minimal and not offensive.

ThermaCELL MR-9L Cordless Portable Mosquito Repellent Outdoor Lantern We used the ThermaCell MR-9L twice so far this summer for eight person dinners on our deck and not one mosquito bite. So easy to set up and the protection it provided lasted well over 3 hours. The fact that it is noiseless and very light weight is an added plus.
